2018 March for Life

This year, St. Anthony’s sent 45 students involved in campus ministry, who graciously sacrificed their time, to go on the March for Life.  This special pilgrimage was held on January 19th in Washington, D.C.  This annual March is in defense of human life and concludes at the U.S. Capitol Building.

Our students started early Friday morning.  Their first stop was a youth rally and Mass in Fairfax, Virginia before arriving at the official March.  The March lasted for a total of two hours. After the March, they went to St. Joseph’s Church on Capitol Hill for a short prayer service with Bishop Barres, who is the Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Center.

The pilgrimage to the March for Life was led this year, for the first time, by Mr. Baer, one of our theology teachers and the moderator of the Respect Life Club.  Mr. Baer said, “The March was a great success.” The dedication and the positive spirit of all the students who went on the pilgrimage is what touched Mr. Baer most during this experience.  The students remained upbeat throughout the entire March. St. Anthony’s hopes to send students to the March for Life again next year.
