Last Season’s Summary
Last year the Friars finished the regular league season undefeated posting an impressive 11-0-1 record and finishing the regular season in first place. Overall, the Friars had a record of 17-1-3 against some of the top teams in the country. In the post season the Friars had a dominating performance against St. John the Baptist winning the league semifinal 7-0. In the League Championship game, the Friars came up short in double overtime and finished the year with a record of 18-2-3.
This Season’s Key Team Athletes:
The 2017 Varsity Soccer team will be led by captains Riga Leamey (GK) and Matt Barresi (D). They will be joined by senior standouts Andrew Weltner (D), Bryan Sierra (M) and Jonny LaMantia.
Joining the Varsity for the first time and with high expectations from the coaching staff are Michael Hall (M), Aiden Wilson ( M), and Nick Cerrito(F).
This Season’s Goals
Our goals remain constant each year; to finish first in the league, move on to win the League Championship and advance to the State Championship format.
This Season’s Key Events
Our non – league schedule is highly competitive as the Friars will face the likes of Beacon, LaSalle Academy, Fairfield Prep, Massapequa, Northport.
