On Saturday September 15th the Saint Anthony’s Friars took on their archrival Chaminade Flyers.  Coming off their home opening win, the Friars went on the road and dominated Chaminade 42-14.

The Friars wanted to capture the momentum early as they were on the road facing a hostile crowd. The Friars accomplished their goal as quarterback Senior Greg Campisi rushed for a 25-yard touchdown three minutes into the game.  He scrambled left, saw a hole and took it to the house. Later in the quarter, running back Senior Kyle Angus, exploded for a 55-yard touchdown that stunned the home crowd. The touchdown run occurred on a gutsy 4th and 1 call by Coach Reichert and Angus delivered in a big way putting the Friars up 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The Friars continued to dominate and Campisi showed why he is considered one of the top players in the league as he threw a quick strike to Junior Greg Randall on the opening play of the second quarter that went for 28 yards and a Friar touchdown.  Campisi would add another passing touchdown to Senior Makai Murphy for 26 yards putting the Friars up at the half 28-0.

The Flyers were determined to get back into the game and began their comeback as their quarterback Thomas Rogan rushed for an 8-yard touchdown putting Chaminade on the board 28-7.  On the Friar’s next possession Campisi made his only mistake of the game as his pass was intercepted and returned for a Chaminade touchdown. The Flyers cut the lead in half making it a 28-14 game.  The home team was back in the game and for the first time since the opening quarter the Flyer faithful began to make some noise and started to believe this was their day. The comeback was short lived as Campisi rushed for a 43-yard touchdown to give the Friars a 35-14 lead.

Campisi put the finishing touches on his dominating performance with his best run of the game a 54-yard touchdown. The offensive line was creating holes the entire game and it showed as both Campisi and Angus rushed for over 100 yards apiece. Angus attests the success of the offense to having great chemistry and finding the holes provided by the offensive line.

Campisi finished the game with 20 completions on 28 attempts for 240 yards as well as 147 yards on the ground. He totaled 5 touchdowns; 3 running and 2 passing.  Angus had 105 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown. Greg Randall had 5 catches for 62 yards and a touchdown and Senior Daniel Parker had 5 catches for 66 yards.
