On Friday, January 12th and Saturday, January 13th, the Saint Anthony’s Winter Art Show
took place in the student center. For an hour and a half each day, a variety works from the first semester’s art classes were put on display. Each and every student enrolled in an art course selected their best projects for the show. The show was organized so that each room and section of the hallway displayed a different style of art.

● The chorus room featured music videos created by the film production class.
● Room 502 had a PowerPoint that showed off beautiful pictures captured by the digital
photography class.
● Room 504 displayed a unique array of masks and vessels, molded by the ceramics class.
Pottery of all different shapes, sizes, and colors could be seen.
● The start of the hallway showed off a very special project. Students across multiple art
courses participated in the Memory Project program, in which refugees sent them photographs that the students then drew for them. These portraits will now be sent back to the refugees. The Memory Project means a lot to them, and it shows them that they have the support of Saint Anthony’s High School.
● Continuing down the hallway, the works of the portfolio prep classes were proudly
displayed. The students used a variety of mediums for their unique projects, from acrylic
paint to charcoal. Portfolio classes are among the most challenging art courses, and the
effort put in was certainly reflected in the finished projects.
● Following the pattern of uniqueness and stylistic variety, the middle of the hallway
caught everyone’s attention due to the wild differences in the pieces created by the digital
illustration classes. The works displayed varied greatly, from gothic and gritty scenes, all
the way to lighthearted cartoon characters.
● Moving further, spectators could see the works created by the drawing and painting
classes. Pieces from this section stood out due to each student showing skill in a variety
of different styles, each one feeling like a miniature portfolio.
● Last, but not least, the end of the hallway was a manifestation of projects created by the
studio in art classes. Most prominently, students had to create portraits of celebrities,
focusing on honing their skills in shading and proportions.

Overall, every section featured wonderful works in different styles, and the artistic side of
Saint Anthony’s shone brilliantly in the spotlight. As the first semester has come to a close,
everyone now has raised expectations for the Spring Art Show, where even more great works are bound to emerge.
